Alcatel-Lucent tests 100 Gbps connections in Colombia

Alcatel-Lucent will provide 100 Gbps services for internet service providers in Colombia. Local operators plan to incorporate new channels of 40 Gbps in their data transmission networks, BusinessCol reports, citing Wilmar Ochoa, head of strategic industries at Alcatel-Lucent Colombia. The fiber-optic network service provided by Alcatel-Lucent in Colombia will also support 100 Gbps channel capacity.
