Alcatel-Lucent to compensate Telecom - report

Alcatel-Lucent will credit Telecom New Zealand NZD 100 million to compensate the operator for the problems with the XT mobile network. Telecom experienced major outages on the new WCDMA network, built by Alcatel-Lucent, earlier this year with compensation packages to customers expected to cost the company NZD 15 million. A deal between Alcatel-Lucent and Telecom is being discussed, The BusinessDay reports citing unnamed sources. Telecom and Alcatel-Lucent did not comment on the rumour.
