
The Chinese company's core e-commerce business grew revenues by 45 percent year-on-year to CNY 46.58 billion, and the digital media and entertainment activities more than tripled to CNY 4.06 billion, led by the takeover of video site Youku Tudou and growing mobile service revenues at UCWeb. Cloud computing revenues more than doubled to CNY 1.76 billion, as the number of paying customers increased 100 percent.
Group adjusted EBITDA rose 41 percent to CNY 27.02 billion, and net income increased 38 percent from a year ago to CNY 17.16 billion, as forex gains helped offset increased losses from affiliate companies. Adjusted free cash flow jumped 44 percent to CNY 34.12 billion, and the company finished the quarter with total cash of CNY 138.49 billion, up from CNY 107.55 billion three months earlier.
