Alibaba Cloud Computing, a unit of Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba, plans to release a tablet using the company's homegrown operating system before the end of this year. The 7-inch tablet will run the Aliyun OS and is manufactured by mobile device maker Tianyu Communication Equipment, Xinhua reports citing president of Alibaba Cloud Computing Wang Jian. Furthermore, a second mobile phone using the Aliyun OS is also set to be released. The first phone using the operating system was launched on 28 July this year. Alibaba also recently established a CNY 1 billion fund to support cloud computing start-ups and developers as part of the company's cloud strategy.
