Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba and web browser maker UCWeb are joining forces to introduce a new mobile search service, the Wall Street Journal reported. UCWeb will maintain a controlling stake in the new Shenma joint venture, which will include employees who previously worked at Baidu and Google. UCWeb chief executive Yu Yongfu will become chairman. No financial terms were disclosed. Alibaba already acquired a stake in UCWeb last year.
