Allianz, Telefonica JV secures EUR 1.65 bln to finance FTTH expansion

Unsere Grune Glasfaser (UGG), the joint venture created by Allianz and Telefonica, has secured EUR 1.65 billion in financing from a consortium of banks. The lead banks providing credit to UGG include BBVA, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, KfW Ipex, Santander, SEB, SMBC, Societe Generale and Unicredit. The financing is part of the company's planned total investment volume of EUR 5 billion to be spent on expanding the FTTH network over the next five or six years.
