Altice completes Suddenlink takeover

Monday 21 December 2015 | 16:32 CET | News
Altice has completed its takeover of US cable operator Suddenlink. This follows clearance from the Federal Communications Commission, which said it had no objections to the takeover, first announced in May. Earlier this month, Altice, Suddenlink's holding company Cequel and the US Department of Justice reached a national security agreement, clearing the way for DoJ approval of the takeover. Altice said previously that it expects to close the takeover before year-end. The company has bought 70 percent of Suddenlink for USD 9.1 billion, marking its entry on the US market.
