Altice has dropped the Virgin Mobile brand in France, marking the completion of the MVNO’s integration with the low-cost brand Red by SFR, AFP reports. Altice started closing Virgin Mobile stores earlier this year, then stopped selling smartpones and fixed plans online. Now Altice has ceased sales of Virgin Mobile products, but existing customers are not migrated automatically.
According to the full MVNO’s website, “The raison d’etre of Virgin Mobile and RED by SFR is to offer you a maximum of freedom and an irreprochable service quality. This is why your offer will evolve soon to enable you to benefit from RED by SFR’s advantages and services.” Virgin Mobile customer are asked to start the migration process themselves. Those who want to move to Red by SFR are sent a new Sim card, contract and request for direct debit.
