Altice raises EUR 911 mln in share issue
Altice has raised EUR 911 million in a share issue to help finance takeovers. The company sold 17.9 million new shares in a secondary offering to institutional investors, via an accelerated book-build. The shares were sold at an average EUR 50.90 each, compared to a closing share price of EUR 53 for Altice the day before the offering. 

The proceeds will go to the EUR 529 million owed Carlyle and Cinven for their 14 percent stake in Numericable, which Altice said it would acquire in April. In addition, Altice will pay off debt incurred for buying a 2.6 percent stake in Numericable for EUR 122 million earlier this month from Pechel and Five Arrows.

Investment fund Altice has acquired a 34.6 percent stake in French cable operator Numericable from Carlyle and Cinven, as announced on 7 April. Altice France buys 2.6% of Numericable from investment funds

Altice France has acquired 2.6 percent of French cable operator Numericable from Pechel Funds and Five Arrows Funds to take its direct holding to 40 percent. Altice France exercised call options to buy all of the stakes held by Pechel (2.64 million) and Five Arrows (604,207) at EUR 37.41 per share or EUR 121.5 million in total. Altice, the Luxembourg-based parent company of French cable operator Numericable, has signed an agreement with Carlyle Cable and Cinven to buy their respective 21.32 percent and 13.27 percent stakes in Numericable.
