Altice USA introduces new 4K streaming device

Altice USA has introduced Optimum Stream and Suddenlink Stream, a new 4K streaming device available for the company’s broadband-only customers.

The device is powered by Android TV OS and will give customers access to a wide variety of video content, including thousands of apps and streaming services on Google Play and over 50 free live streaming channels. Preselected apps include Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, Peacock and Discovery+. Customers will also be able to use the Google Assistant button on the remote to search for entertainment and control their TV and smart home devices. The device also sports 4K HDR and Dolby Vision.

The new streaming device is free forOptimum and Suddenlink broadband-only customers who select 1 Gig service or the highest broadband speed available in their service area. It is available to all other Optimum and Suddenlink broadband-only customers for USD 5 per month.

Optimum renews NFL carriage deal in time for football season

US cable operator Optimum, a brand of Altice USA, has announced a multi-year renewal of its affiliation agreement with NFL Media that will extend the existing carriage of the NFL Network and NFL RedZone channels on Optimum TV in time for the start of the 2023 football season. NFL Network will continue to be available in Optimum's Select and Premier packages, while NFL RedZone will be available in Optimum's Sports Package and Sports Plus packages.

Altice USA quietly puts Suddenlink up for sale - report

Altice USA has quietly started looking for buyers for Suddenlink, which it bought for over USD 9 billion in 2015, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The sale of the unit, which provides cable and internet services in the south-central part of the US, would help Altice USA lessen its debt load, the sources said, adding that the sale could bring in up to USD 20 billion.

Altice USA sees broadband customers fall by 15,000-20,000 in Q3

Altice USA expects broadband customer numbers to go down by 15,000-20,000 in the third quarter, Bloomberg reported. Speaking at a Goldman Sachs investor conference, CEO Dexter Goei attributed the "underwhelming" and disappointing results to severe weather, stricter regulations and a weaker-than-expected back-to-school season.

Altice USA to rename, upgrade affordable broadband service

Altice USA plans to increase the speed of its affordable broadband service 'Altice Advantage Internet' in October, at no additional cost. The company will also rename the service 'Optimum Advantage Internet'. The plan is available to eligible households across Altice USA's Optimum and Suddenlink service areas. Changes will be performed automatically.

Altice USA puts Telecommunications division directly under CEO in management shift

Altice USA has announced the resignation of COO and Telecommunications president Hakim Boubazine, with immediate effect. CEO Dexter Goei will assume direct responsibilities for the Telecommunications division, with Boubazine serving as senior advisor to the CEO until end December. The new management structure is expected to accelerate the company's growth initiatives and streamline management decision-making processes.

Altice USA revenues advance 1.7% in Q2, helped by growth at Broadband

Altice USA said revenues for the second quarter advanced 1.7 percent from the year earlier to USD 2.52 billion, pushed by 7 percent revenue growth at Broadband and a jump of 36.4 percent at News & Advertising. The adjusted EBITDA was almost flat, off 0.1 percent to USD 1.10 billion, due to a one-off cost savings in the year before. The net profit meanwhile increased to USD 197.7 million or USD 0.43 per diluted share, from 111.3 million and 0.19 per share.

Altice USA revenues up 1% in Q1 as customer base contracts

Altice USA reported first-quarter revenues up 1.2 percent year-on-year to USD 2.48 billion, led by a nearly 10 percent increase in broadband revenues. Adjusted EBITDA increased 4.2 percent to USD 1.07 billion, and the net result moved to a profit of USD 274 million compared to a loss of USD 1 million a year earlier.

Altice USA introduces Wi-Fi 6 gateway for gigabit broadband customers

Altice USA, the provider of Optimum and Suddenlink-branded broadband services in the US, has launched its first Wi-Fi 6 gateway. The Smart WiFi 6 device will be provided initially with its 1 Gbps broadband plans, or the highest speed offered in certain markets.
