Amazon developing smartphone to rival iPhone - report
Amazon is developing a smartphone to compete with the iPhone and Android devices, reports Bloomberg citing two unnamed sources familiar with the matter. One source said that Amazon was working with Chinese mobile phone maker Foxconn on the device. The other said that Amazon was looking to complement its smartphone strategy by buying mobile technology patents.

Amazon profit tumbles in Q2, sales up 29%

Amazon.com reported net sales up 29 percent year-on-year in the second quarter to USD 12.83 billion. Operating profit fell to USD 107 million from USD 201 million a year ago, and net profit fell 96 percent to USD 7 million or USD 0.01 per share.
