Amazon launches in-app payment platform
Amazon.com confirmed the launch of an in-app purchasing platform for its Amazon Appstore. This will allow developers to offer digital content and subscriptions for purchase within apps and games on the Kindle Fire and other Android devices. Amazon said the service offers secure, one-click purchases, and developers such as Disney, Glu Mobile, Gameloft, Conde Nast and The Wall Street Journal have already integrated in-app purchasing API and are offering the service to customers. Amazon.com has started taking pre-orders for its Kindle Touch 3G e-reader for shipping to customers in over 175 countries.
