Amazon plans new models of Kindle e-reader, tablet - report

Amazon.com plans to launch new versions of the Kindle e-reader and tablet, reports Reuters citing an unnamed source who has seen a prototype. This will include a monochrome e-reader with front lighting. The source said that Amazon.com was aiming to have the new device in stores in July. It added that Amazon also planned to launch a new tablet nearer the holiday season later in 2012. This new Kindle Fire is expected to have a larger diagonal display of 8.9-in. The source added that the new Kindle e-reader would be launched in the touch 3G and touch Wi-Fi versions, with prices expected to stay the same or increase by a very small margin.
