America Movil to invest USD 8.5 bln in 2019 - CEO

America Movil has plans to spend USD 8.5 billion on capital expenditures in 2019, above all on expanding its fibre-optic infrastructure throughout Latin America and investing in the latest mobile technology such as 4.5G and 5G, said the company's CEO Daniel Hajj, according to El Economista. In a call with investors following the publication of America Movil's full-year results, Hajj also revealed that the company had applied to Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) for a licence to provide pay-TV services.
