Angolan govt seeks bids for Angola Telecom concession on international market by 15 November
The Angolan Ministry for Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media has put a contract to operate and manage the national backbone and metropolitan network of Angola Telecom out to tender. Bids can be submitted until 15 November by national and foreign individuals and companies. A fifteen-year concession contract should be signed by December, when the results will be published.

Angola Telecom launches tender for infrastructure management

Angola Telecom has launched an international public tender for the sub-concession of its metropolitan national transport infrastructure, reports Valor Economico. Interested parties must pay USD 50,000 to obtain the bidding documents and submit their bids within 60 days, or by 10 November. In addition, they must post a deposit, equivalent to 5 percent of the value of the investment.

Africell obtains 8 years of tax reductions to fund Angolan expansion

Angola's fourth mobile operator Africell has secured tax incentives including a reduction of the final rate of Industrial Tax to 3.5 percent for a period of eight years, ITWeb reported. Minister for Telecommunications, Information Technology and Media Manuel Homem said the contract with Africell includes a programme for coverage between urban centres and rural areas, with a target of 60 percent coverage of urban areas within eight years of operation.

Angolan govt to put Angola Telecom transport infrastructure concession out to tender

The Angolan government is going ahead with an international public tender offer for a concession for Angola Telecom's national and metropolitan transport infrastructure, reports Novo Jornal. The measure aims to "capture the private sector's know-how for infrastructure management and exploration, as well as its expansion" and also for "training the staff" of the public company.
