The US-based internet service provider AOL, which is currently under investigation from US regulators, has sought to take control of its fate and asked that its letters be removed from the AOL Time Warner name, the Times wrote. Dick Parsons, chief executive of AOL Time Warner, will discuss the name change at a board meeting next month after an approach by Jonathan Miller, head of AOL.
