Apax/Bain prepared to up bid for PT Portugal - report

The consortium made up of the investment funds Apax and Bain and Portuguese conglomerate Semapa is able to improve its bid for PT Portugal, a source close to the consortium told Diario Economico. Brazilian operator Oi earlier agreed to enter into exclusive negotiations with French group Altice to sell the assets in Portugal. The funds offered EUR 7.075 billion, but now show willingness to raise the value of the bid and continue in the race, claims the daily.
