Apple drops 4G branding for new iPad in Australia
In Australia, Apple has stopped calling its new iPad 4G capable, The Australian reports. Following complaints that the new iPad does not connect to local 4G networks, the company now uses the term "Wifi + Cellular". The new langue on the Apple Australia website also says: "This product supports very fast cellular networks. It is not compatible with current Australian 4G LTE networks and WiMAX networks". The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission took Apple to court as it argued that the 4G label misled consumers. Apple offered refunds to customers that felt they were misled and has now issued this clarifying statement on the capabilities of the device.
