Apple is expected to unveil the iPad Mini on October 23, reports the Wall Street Journal technology website AllThingsD. The report, citing 'people familiar with Apple's plans', said the invitation-only event will be on 16 October. If confirmed, it will be three days before the release of Microsoft's Surface tablet and two days before Apple reports quarterly earnings. The Wall Street Journal reported on 12 October that Apple has begun production of 10 million iPads. The mini iPad is expected to have a 7.85-inch screen.
