Apple sues Samsung for patent, trademark infringement
Apple has filed a trademark and patent infringement suit in the US against Samsung Electronics. Apple alleges that Samsung violated 10 iPhone and iPad-related patents in its Android-based smartphones and the Galaxy Tab tablet device, The Financial Times reports. Apple's case emphasises 'trade dress', or the appearance of the products, and includes photographs showing the similarity in the products shape and appearance of onscreen icons. Samsung said it will respond actively to the legal action to protect its intellectual property.

Apple has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung Electronics in South Korea, reports Reuters. The litigation comes as Samsung filed patent suits in South Korea, Japan and Germany in April over the iPhone and iPad after Apple claimed Samsung's Galaxy line copied its products. Samsung Electronics filed a new lawsuit against Apple in the US. The suit in federal district court in San Jose, California accuses Apple of violating 10 patents on mobile phone technology and design. Samsung Electronics is suing Apple claiming patent infringement, a week after the iPhone maker filed a complaint in US federal court alleging the South Korean company copied its products.
