Arm is introducing a new generation of server products for applications from data centres to network infrastructure. The company said the Neoverse V1 and N2 platforms deliver respectively 50 and 40 percent more performance, respectively, over the first-generation Neoverse N1 launched in early 2019.
Neoverse V1 is the first in the V-series and delivers a single-threaded performance uplift of more than 50 percent over N1. This is Arm's fastest product for applications more reliant on CPU performance and bandwidth. Neoverse V1 supports Scalable Vector Extensions, to help develop markets such as high-performance cloud, HPC, and machine learning.
Neoverse N2 is designed to support scaling and even higher-performing computing than its predecessor. This addresses scale-out needs of applications across a range of use cases, from cloud to SmartNICs and enterprise networking, to power-constrained edge devices.
The V1 is ready for production and N2 is expected to be available in 2021.
