AT&T, Google spent over USD 4 mln on lobbying in Q3

AT&T and Google spent over USD 4 million in lobbying expenditures in the third quarter to top the ranking of spending by technology and communications companies issued by Consumer Watchdog. AT&T’s third quarter expenses increased by 8 percent year on year to USD 4.43 million with Google close second behind after having spent USD 4.17 million, up 9 percent from a year earlier.

Oracle’s spending soared by 90 percent year on year to USD 3.82 million, while Amazon increased its lobbying spending 26 percent year on year to USD 3.41 million, having nearly tripled its third quarter lobbying outlays since 2014 when it spent USD 1.18 million.

Facebook spent USD 2.85 million in the third quarter of 2017, a 30 percent year on year rise, with Microsoft dropping below the USD 2 million level and spending USD 1.95 million, a decrease of 12 percent compared to Q3 2016.
