AT&T tops Speedtest mobile data in Q4, Verizon leads in fixed speed

AT&T has again claimed the fastest mobile network speeds in the US, based on Ookla Speedtest data for Q4 2020. The operator achieved the highest median 5G network speeds, at 79.6 Mbps, compared to 71.5 Mbps for T-Mobile/Sprint and 60.4 Mbps for Verizon. 

AT&T said it also maintained the position of fastest overall wireless speeds for a second year and remains the fastest network for iPhones, according to Ookla data. 

In the fixed market, Speedtest data for Q4 shows Verizon was the fastest fixed broadband provider in the US. Cox was a close second, Comcast third, Charter fourth, AT&T Internet fifth and CenturyLink sixth.
