AT&T Mexico forced to pay damages to 3.5 mln former Nextel clients

Friday 6 April 2018 | 11:33 CET | News
The Mexican government has announced that federal consumer protection agency Profeco prevailed in a class action brought by former Nextel customers against improper charges applied between 2012 and 2014. Profeco estimates that some by 3.5 million could benefit from the decision but gave no indication of the amount of compensation that Nextel's new owner AT&T will have to pay out. The agency specified that Nextel applied illegal charges on telecommunication services not contracted by postpay and prepay users, among other anomalies.
