Batelco Group CEO leaves; Hinnawi named acting CEO
Batelco Group has announced that its group CEO Alan Whelan will be leaving the company and it has appointed Ihab Hinnawi, CEO at Batelco's sister company Umniah, as the group's acting CEO. Hinnawi joined Umniah as CEO in 2009, drawing on over 20 years of managerial experience. Prior to assuming the CEO role at Umniah, Hinnawi held the role of general manager at the enterprise division of Batelco Bahrain and was subsequently CEO of Batelco Jordan. In 2004, Hinnawi helped to establish Umniah, as a key member of its initial management team, and continued to work as the operations director of Umniah until 2007.
