German IT service provider Bechtle said that it has appointed Uwe Burk as  the CAD/CAM department head, effective on 01 November. Burk will take over the newly created position from software company Dassault Systemes. As VP of Eurocentral Sales at Dassault's 3DExperience Works, Burk already communicated with the CAD/CAM specialists at Bechtle. The 3Dexperience Works is a platform that integrates different aspect of the process to design a 3D product. It is combined with Solidworks, a software developed by Dassault.

Burk earlier held positions at SDRC Software, Unigraphics Solutions and Siemens PLM. He also served in various management positions at Dassault Systemes Deutschland.

Bechtle wants to further expand its decentralized network architecture, which is already in place to organise the work of the 75 IT system houses distributed in the DACH region, for the CAD/CAM specialists. Burk will be responsible for designing the new architecture based on available resources and knowledge.

In Germany, Bechtle is represented on the market with SolidLine, Solidpro, Coffee, HCV Data, C-CAM and DPS Software, in Austria with planetsoftware and in Switzerland with Solid Solutions. It has been a partner of Dassault for the Solidworks portfolio for ten years.
