Belgium's Spacebel wants to launch network of satellites

Belgian space systems and software engineering company Spacebel has started a project with Walloon investment company SRIW to create a constellation of satellites for the observation of natural resources on Earth, Datanews reported.

As part of the Scanworld network, 10-15 satellites will be placed in a constellation, which will travel over an area once every 3 to 4 days. The satellites will perform broad spectrum measurements suitable for agriculture, among other uses.

The European Space Agency (ESA) also makes many measurements available as open data.
