Indian operator Bharti Airtel has announced it has agreed to acquire 100 percent of Augere Wireless Broadband India. Augere owns 20 MHz of broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum in the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh telecom circle.
Following the completion of the transaction, Augere will become an Airtel subsidiary. The acquisition is subject to necessary statutory and regulatory approvals. No financial details related to the acquisition have been disclosed. Back in May, an unnamed person familiar with the matter said Airtel was in advanced talks to acquire Augere Wireless Broadband India for around INR 1.5 billion.
