Bharti Airtel files IPO prospectus for Infratel
Bharti Airtel has filed its prospectus for the initial public offering of shares in its tower arm Bharti Infratel with the Securities and Exchange Board of India. The issue constitutes a new issue of shares by Bharti Infratel and an offer by Compassvale Investments, GS Strategic Investments, Anadale, and Nomura Asia Investment (IB) to sell shares in the infrastructure company. The Indian operator is expected to use proceeds from the offering to pay down debt.

Bharti Infratel, the mobile tower unit of Indian operator Bharti Airtel, has raised around USD 760 million in its initial public offering, the Financial Times reports. The company sold 189 million shares to retail investors at INR 210 each and at INR 220 for others. This gives the company a market capitalisation of about USD 7.5 billion. Indian operator Bharti Airtel's tower arm Bharti Infratel has finalised the allocation of 28.33 million shares or 15 percent of the total offer in its IPO, to eighteen anchor investors. The shares were allocated at INR 230 each, for a total INR 6.51 billion, reports The Times News Network (TNN). The anchor investors include Alliance Bernstein, Battery March, Clough Capital, Columbia Wagner, Morgan Stanley, Route One Capital, Sundaram Mutual Fund and Wellington, among others. Bharti Infratel, the mobile tower unit of Indian operator Bharti Airtel, has set a price of INR 210 to 240 per share for its initial public offering. Bharti Infratel will offer 188.90 million shares with a face value of INR 10 each. The issue will be opened for subscription on 11 December.

Bharti Airtel has shortlisted banks to manage a listing of its tower assets aimed at raising more than USD 750 million, Reuters reported citing two sources with direct knowledge of the matter. Airtel plans to list tower arm to raise INR 45 bln - report

Bharti Airtel is looking again at listing its tower arm, Bharti Infratel. This would provide a new source of financing and an exit option to private equity firms, which have invested USD 1.25 billion in the tower company, reports The Economic Times.
