Bharti Airtel gets USD 2.5 bln credit line from China banks
Bharti Airtel said it has received financing commitments of up to USD 2.5 Billion from China Development Bank (USD 2 billion) and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (USD 500 million). The Indian operator said it will use the credit lines to further diversify its global financing pool and invest in data network growth. Bharti Airtel announced a strategic collaboration with China Mobile in March. It also has network equipment sourcing agreements with ZTE and Huawei.

Bharti Airtel reported revenues for its fiscal first quarter to June of INR 236.7 billion, up 3.1 percent from a year earlier. Growth was led by mobile data services, up 56.9 percent to INR 34.6 billion as data traffic grew 86.5 percent over the same period. EBITDA increased 6.4 percent to INR 82.6 billion, and the margin rose 1.1 percent points to 34.9 percent, driven by improved profitability in India. Airtel to double physical store base selling Xiaomi devices

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is in talks with Indian mobile operator Bharti Airtel to double the number of physical stores that can sell Xiaomi smartphones across the country, The Economic Times reports, citing Manu Jain, head of Xiaomi India, "We are talking to Airtel to increase the number of stores from 120 to around 240", said Jain.

Huawei wins USD 120 mln contracts from Idea, Airtel - report

Chinese telecom equipment producer Huawei Technologies has won two contracts worth a combined USD 120 million from Indian mobile operators Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular. Under the terms of the agreements, Huawei will upgrade Airtel's and Idea's wireline networks, The Economic Times reports, citing an unnamed person familiar with the matter. Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi announced the availability of the Redmi Note 4G in India, NDTV Gadgets reports. Priced at INR 9,999, the Redmi Note 4G will be available through e-commerce portal Flipkart on 30 December. Xiaomi to launch first 4G phone in India

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi will launch its Redmi Note phablet in India on 25 November. This is Xiaomi's first 4G phone in India, and the 4G version will retail at select Airtel stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai. Both the 3G and 4G versions of Redmi Note will also be sold through Mi India's e-commerce partner, Flipkart.
