Bharti Airtel reduces stake in Bharti Infratel
Bharti Airtel announced the divestment of 55 million shares of its subsidiary Bharti Infratel through a secondary share sale for a total of INR 19.25 billion (USD 310 million). The company said that the overall demand reached USD 440 million from investors across the US, Europe and Asia. Following the completion of the transaction, Bharti Airtel's equity holding in Bharti Infratel, which manages its towers infrastructure, stands at 71.9 percent. The company said it will use the proceeds to reduce its debt.
