Bouygues sells mobile masts to Antin Infrastructure
French mobile and broadband operator Bouygues Telecom has signed a definitive agreement with Antin Infrastructure for the sale and management of 2,166 mobile masts in France for EUR 205 million. Of the total, 1,873 masts are being transferred on 26 November and the remainder will be in the second quarter of 2013. Bouygues Telecom will own a 15 percent stake in France Pylones Services (FPS) the company formed to own and manage the masts. FPS's masts will host the base stations of Bouygues Telecom and other operators across France. Bouygues Telecom will gain around EUR 185 million in net income from the transaction, after accounting for its 15 percent stake in FPS. The operator said it would use the money for continued investment and to improve its net debt position.

Spanish infrastructure operator Cellnex Telecom has announced an agreement to acquire 230 mobile telecommunications towers in France from Bouygues Telecom for EUR 80 million. Bouygues Telecom sells remaining 15% of FPS Towers

French operator Bouygues Telecom has sold its 15 percent stake in mast operator FPS Towers to investment fund Antin Infrastructure, increases its stake 100 percent. Although the purchase amount was not announced, a person close to the matter told Les Echos that it achieved a good capital gain compared to its initial valuation of EUR 30 million for 15 percent. Bouygues Telecom sold over 2,000 of its masts to Antin for EUR 205 million in 2012 when it needed cash to fight a price war begun by ISP Free's entry

Bouygues Telecom revenue falls 16% in first quarter

French operator Bouygues Telecom reported EUR 1.15 billion of first quarter revenue, down 16 percent on the year-earlier period. Network sales decreased 13 percent to EUR 1.06 billion. EBITDA stood at EUR 212 million and current operating profit at EUR 28 million in the period. Net profit decreased by 75 percent to EUR 15 million.

French mast operator FPS Towers has appointed former TDF executive Frederic Zimer as CEO and Didier Quillot, an Orange and Lagardere Active veteran, as president of its strategic committee, Les Echos reports. Bouygues in talks to sell mobile masts to Antin - report

French building and telecoms conglomerate Bouygues has entered exclusive talks to sell its nearly 2,300 mobile masts to BNP Paribas-backed Antin Infrastructure Partners for around EUR 200 million, Bloomberg reports, citing two people familiar with the matter. An agreement on the sale may be announced in the coming weeks. Bouygues confirmed discussions with Antin, but would not comment on the deal's amount or timing.
