Bouygues to replace 3,000 Huawei-made mobile antennas by 2028

Thursday 27 August 2020 | 15:53 CET | News
Bouygues Telecom CEO Olivier Roussat said the company will replace its 3,000 Huawei-made mobile antennas by 2028, Reuters reported. The move follows a decision by the French government to remove equipment made by Huawei from highly populated areas. French authorities have told telecom operators planning to buy Huawei 5G equipment that they will not be able to renew licences for the gear once they expire, sources told Reuters last month. This will mean the phase out of the Chinese group from those mobile networks by 2028.
