BT abandons GBP 300 mln mobile revenue target
Telecom group BT has quietly abandoned its promise to generate GBP 300 million of revenue from its mobile services by 2005, after failing to come close to reaching the target, reports the Times. In 2003, Pierre Danon, ex-head of BT's retail division, claimed that the group would generate GBP300 million per year from its mobile activities by 2005. BT earned only GBP 205 million by March, the end of its FY. According to a BT spokesman, the target GBP1 billion announced in 2004 for mobility and convergence projects over five years is the 'real' target.
