BT sponsors Connectivity Zone at Wales Tech Week
BT has agreed a partnership with Wales Tech Week, becoming partner for the Connectivity Zone. BT will be offering technology demonstrations to attendees, and sharing insights into how digital technology can help organisations improve efficiency, productivity and innovation. Wales Tech Week will take place at the International Convention Centre in Newport from 16-18 October.

BT installs temporary mobile network for Pokemon Go Fest

BT has temporarily expanded its EE mobile network to support the Pokemon Go Fest 2023 event in London at Brockwell Park in South London. The expanded network enabled fans of the AR mobile game to play the game and stay connected. This was one of more than 125 mobile network upgrades across the UK to deliver connectivity for events this summer.

BT wins 7-year network, cyber security services contract with NATS

BT has won a 7-year contract to provide network and cyber security services to NATS, UK provider of air navigation services. NATS provides air traffic services at 14 UK airports, handling more than 2.5 million flights a year. It also manages all UK air space from two air traffic control centres in Hampshire and Ayrshire.

BT Group and Qualcomm have announced a continuation of their partnership with 5G lab facilities installed in Qualcomm's office in Farnborough in the UK. The two companies have been collaborating for more than 10 years, from 4G to 5G technology.

BT signs new 5-year IT services contract with Bromley Council

BT has signed a new 5-year contract with Bromley Council in London to provide IT services. The contract runs from 16 December 2023 and is valued at up to GBP 25 million (GBP 16.55 million excluding VAT), with an option to extend for an additional five years.

BT, Ericsson achieve 5G transmission in wideband FDD

BT and Ericsson have successfully demonstrated the transmission of 5G services in a wideband FDD (frequency division duplex) radio carrier, over 20 MHz, within a sub-3 GHz spectrum band. Calling it a European first, the company said the breakthrough trial demonstrated the benefits of configuring a wide carrier bandwidth of 50 MHz (50 MHz downlink + 50 MHz uplink) in EE's 2.6 GHz band and performing downlink aggregation with two TDD (time division duplex) carriers in EE's 3.5 GHz band.
