C&W Optus reveals potential buyers
Vodafone Group, New Zealand's Telecom Corp and Singapore Telecommunications are still interested in acquiring the mobile phone assets of telecom company Cable & Wireless Optus, an analyst's report said. C&W Optus, which last month asked carriers interested in acquiring part or all of its assets to lodge a non-binding offer before the end of 2000, also said Japanese mobile phone giant NTT DoCoMo was still potentially interested. The companies have repeatedly declined to comment. C&W Optus chief financial officer Norman Gillespie briefed analysts last week but the company has not released to the market any information on the briefing.
