Chilean regulator to allow 5G trials in 3.5GHz band

Chilean telecommunications regulator Subtel announced that it will be authorising operators to carry out pilots of 5G network technologies in the 3.5GHz band. In a statement, the watchdog said companies interested in conducting trials should apply for permission to develop and test 5G technology, above all in areas including Big Data, autonomous vehicles, telemedicine plus IoT in mining and agriculture.
