China adds 44 million 5G subscribers in September

China Mobile led the growth in mobile subscribers in China in September, with a net increase of 4.60 million in the month, and remains the largest operator on the local market with a total of 955.70 million mobile customers. China Telecom saw a net increase of 2.86 million customers in September, ending the month with 369.66 million in total. China Unicom ended September with 315.55 million mobile customers, up by 2.60 million from August.

China Mobile claimed the biggest gain in 5G subscribers, growing by more than 27 million in September to 331.22 million 5G customers. China Telecom added over 8.92 million 5G users in the month to reach a total of 155.54 million, and China Unicom counted 136.94 million 5G customers in September, up by 7.88 million from the previous month.

China Mobile also showed the strongest growth in the wireline broadband market, adding 4.15 million for a total of 235.35 million. China Unicom grew by 1.51 million new customers to a total of 92.98 million, and China Telecom added 1.68 million new customers for a base of 167.64 million broadband subscribers.

China ends 2021 with 730 mln 5G subscribers

China Telecom led the growth in mobile subscribers in China in December 2021, with a net increase of 490,000, ending the month with 372.43 million in total. China Mobile added only 109,000 customers in the month, but remains the largest mobile operator on the local market with a total of 956.89 million mobile customers. China Unicom ended December with 317.11 million mobile customers, down by 225,000 from November.

China Unicom appoints Tang as senior VP

China Unicom has appointed Tang Yongbo a senior VP for the company from 30 December. Tang is currently vice general manager and senior VP of China United Network Communications Group Company, and director and senior VP of China United Network Communications Corporation. He was earlier deputy GM and GM for the Hunan Branch of China Unicom and the GM of marketing at China United Network Communications Group Company. He is still a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress.

China Telecom led the growth in mobile subscribers in China in October, with a net increase of 1.58 million, ending the month with 371.24 million in total. China Mobile saw a net increase of 1.40 million customers in the month, and remains the largest operator on the local market with a total of 957.10 million mobile customers. China Unicom ended October with 316.83 million mobile customers, up by 1.28 million from September.

China Telecom's 9-month revenue grows more than 12%, profit jumps nearly 25%

China Telecom posted operating revenues of CNY 329.24 billion for the first nine months of 2021, which represents an increase of 12.5 percent year-on-year. Service revenues amounted to CNY 304.27 billion, up 8.3 percent year-on-year. Profit reached CNY 23.32 billion, representing an increase of 24.7 percent year-on-year.

China Unicom's 9-month profit jumps more than 19%, revenue grows 8.5%

China Unicom posted total revenue of CNY 244.489 billion for the first three quarters of 2021, which represents an increase of 8.5 percent year-on-year. Service revenue amounted to CNY 222.384 billion, up by 7.3 percent year-on-year. The Group's EBITDA amounted to CNY 75.337 billion, up by 2.2 percent year-on-year. EBITDA as a percentage of service revenue was 33.9 percent. Profit attributable to equity shareholders of the company amounted to CNY 12.923 billion, up 19.4 percent year-on-year.

China Mobile's 9-month revenue grows nearly 13%, adds 10 mln mobile users in Q3

China Mobile saw its operating revenue increase by 12.9 percent year-on-year to CNY 648.6 billion for the first three quarters of 2021. Revenue from telecommunications services grew by 9 percent year-on-year to CNY 572.9 billion and revenue from the sales of products and others grew by 55.4 percent year-on-year to CNY 75.8 billion. China Mobile's profit jumped 6.9 percent year-on-year to CNY 87.2 billion for the first three quarters of 2021.

China Mobile led the growth in mobile subscribers in China in August, with a net increase of 3.95 million in the month, and remains the largest operator on the local market with a total of 951.10 million mobile customers. China Telecom saw a net increase of 2.18 million customers in August, ending the month with 366.80 million in total. China Unicom ended August with 312.95 million mobile customers, up by 1.34 million from July.
