
China Mobile led the growth in mobile subscribers in China in September, with a net increase of 4.60 million in the month, and remains the largest operator on the local market with a total of 955.70 million mobile customers. China Telecom saw a net increase of 2.86 million customers in September, ending the month with 369.66 million in total. China Unicom ended September with 315.55 million mobile customers, up by 2.60 million from August.
China Mobile claimed the biggest gain in 5G subscribers, growing by more than 27 million in September to 331.22 million 5G customers. China Telecom added over 8.92 million 5G users in the month to reach a total of 155.54 million, and China Unicom counted 136.94 million 5G customers in September, up by 7.88 million from the previous month.
China Mobile also showed the strongest growth in the wireline broadband market, adding 4.15 million for a total of 235.35 million. China Unicom grew by 1.51 million new customers to a total of 92.98 million, and China Telecom added 1.68 million new customers for a base of 167.64 million broadband subscribers.
