China adds more than 47 million 5G subscribers in March

China Telecom added the most new mobile subscribers in China in March this year, growing by around 5.23 million to a total of 356.25 million. Market leader China Mobile added more than 2.42 million customers in March, after losing 3.7 million mobile customers in February. China Mobile ended March with a total of 939.59 million customers. China Unicom added 2.95 million mobile subscribers in the month to a total of 309.29 million at 31 March.

China Mobile reached 188.7 million 5G subscribers during March, adding more than 15.5 million during the month. China Telecom also added over 24.73 million 5G users, for a total of 111.23 million. China Unicom saw 7.30 million net additions of 5G subscribers in the month, ending March with a total of 91.85 million 5G users.

In the fixed market, China Mobile adding around 2.7 million broadband connections to reach a total of over 218.41 million at end-March. China Telecom added 3.02 million new connections, for a total 161.55 million. China Unicom added 964,000 fixed-line broadband subscribes in March, to reach a total of 88.12 million at the end of the month.

China Telecom led the growth in mobile subscribers in China in July, with a net increase of 2.13 million to 364.62 million in total. China Mobile remains the largest operator with a total of 947.47 million mobile customers, up by 1.96 million from June, and China Unicom ended the month with 311.61 million mobile customers, up by 1.16 million from the previous month.

Running on Huawei's products and services, the network used 2.6 GHz and 4.9 GHz spectrum to provide 5G coverage in enclosed ultra-dense areas. In addition, 5G indoor distributed Massive MIMO was part of the network test.

China Mobile tops mobile customer adds in April

China Telecom added only 1.57 million mobile subscribers in China in April this year, compared to 3.45 million in March. China Telecom ended March with a total of 357.82 million mobile subscribers. Market leader China Mobile added more than 2.16 million customers in April, and ended the moth with a total of 941.75 million customers. China Unicom added 185,000 mobile subscribers in the month to a total of 309.47 million at 30 April.

China Telecom's Q1 revenues jump nearly 13%, profit grows 10%

China Telecom posted first-quarter operating revenues of CNY 106.87 billion, which represents an increase of 12.7 percent year-on-year. Service revenues amounted to CNY 100 billion, up 8.6 percent from the first quarter of 2020. For the first quarter of 2021, mobile service revenues amounted to CNY 48.41 billion, up 8.1 percent year-on-year, while wireline service revenues reached CNY 51.66 billion, representing an increase of 9.1 percent.

China Telecom tops mobile customer adds in February, China Mobile sheds 3.6 mln users

China Telecom added the most new mobile subscribers in China in February this year, growing by around 1.78 million to a total of 352.80 million. Market leader China Mobile lost more than 3.69 million customers to reach 937.16 million, and China Unicom lost 20,000 mobile subscribers in the month to a total of 306.33 million at 28 February.

China Telecom added the most new mobile subscribers in China in January this year, growing by around 1.5 million to a total of 35.55 million. Market leader China Mobile lost more than 1 million customers to reach 940.86 million, and China Unicom added 545,000 mobile subscribers in the month to a total of 306.35 million at 31 January.
