China expects to add 100 mln 3G users next year
China is expected to add 100 million new 3G users next year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Furthermore, the number of broadband internet users is forecast to rise by 25 million, Xinhua reports. The telecommunications industry targets an 8 percent rise in main business revenue while the software and IT service industry targets revenue growth of 25 percent. By the end of November, the number of mobile phone users exceeded 1.1 billion with the number of 3G users reaching 220 million. The number of broadband internet users stood at 174 million.
