China Mobile is interested in the acquisition of Brazilian operator Oi, reports Exame. The magazine states that the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has met with the Chinese company to discuss possible investments in Brazil, including in the telecom operator.
In preliminary talks, China Mobile has proposed two conditions for the transaction: that the fines that weigh on the company get pardoned and that it purchase only the mobile phone unit, leaving the fixed telephone service unit behind.
