
According to market rumours Cisco Systems is interested in acquiring Nokia. The Business newspaper was quoted by Reuters as saying Cisco Systems is considering buying the Finnish mobile equipment maker in a bid to gain its wireless infrastructure technology. Sources were not revealed. Chief Executive John Chambers of US-based Cisco is believed to be interested in merging with a wireless infrastructure company and Nokia has been identified as the most likely target, the paper said. Cisco is worth around USD 123 billion, while Nokia's market value is around USD 71 billion, according to Reuters.
