Com Hem soft-launches mobile telephony, plans expansion in Q1

Com Hem said it has added mobile telephony to its range of services, using the network of the Tele2 Group, to which it now belongs. A soft launch started on 17 January through its customer service and it will expand throughout Sweden in the first quarter.

The operator said the mobile telephony service complements its established television and broadband portfolio, adding that Tele2’s nationwide mobile network that reaches 99.9 percent of the Swedish population. This means that Com Hem’s customers can obtain connectivity both at home and outdoors, all from one provider on one bill.

Samuel Skott, EVP for Swedish B2C at Tele2, said the "common journey" with Com Hem had "just started", but in November 2018, Tele2 Sweden began offering joint customers of both operators either double their Tele2 internet allowance, or else free, extra data SIM cards for tablets, routers or other devices. Tele2 said it the time that it had begun selling Com Hem TV and internet subscriptions, and convergent bundles, through its own shops and customer service line.
