Comcast achieves 600 Gbps across 1,600 km with Ciena

Comcast said it has conducted what it says is the world's first long-distance 600Gbps single wavelength pilot deployment with Ciena, across 1,600 km. The pilot carried live commercial traffic across over 800 km between core peering lcoations in Newark, New Jersey and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Comcast then looped the signal back and verified its successful operation of 600 Gbps across the full 1,600 km.
