The US-based company Corning Optical Communications (COC) has officially confirmed its plans to build a new facility for production of fibre-optic cable in Poland. The new plant will be located in the town of Mszczonow in the county of Zyrardow in the Mazowieckie region.
The investment will amount to PLN 366 million, and COC will get a PLN 17.5 million grant from a state programme to support important economic investments in the area. At least 240 people will be employed there, and the plant is planned to open in 2022.
COC already operates since 2001 a fibre-optic cable production plant in the town of Strykow near Lodz.
