Cricket signs LTE wholesale deal with Clearwire

US mobile operator Cricket Communications announced a five-year wholesale agreement with Clearwire for LTE network capacity. Cricket is the second operator to sign up for services on Clearwire's planned LTE network, and the operator will use the capacity offload services to supplement its own LTE network. Cricket plans to deploy LTE across approximately two-thirds of its current network footprint over the next 2-3 years and to cover up to 25 million people with LTE in 2012. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
