Sunrise owner CVC Capital Partners has met with the Swiss competition regulator (Wettbewerbskommission) for informal talks, according to Swiss newspaper Handelszeitung. President of the Wettbewerbskommission, Vincent Martanet confirmed the meeting, but declined to give more information about the talks, which are said to be about the takeover of Orange Switzerland. According to the Financial Times, CVC, which is not one of the official bidders for Orange Switzerland, is in negotiations with private equity firms that are interested in acquiring Orange. The takeover, originally planned for the end of 2011, is now scheduled for Q1 2012.
