Daily Mail in talks with private equity for Yahoo bid
The publisher of the UK newspaper Daily Mail has confirmed it is in talks with private equity companies about a takeover of Yahoo, the Guardian reports. The Daily Mail and General Trust, the parent company of the Daily Mail, confirmed that it has approached companies interested in a potential bid for Yahoo.

Already the top news site in the UK, the Daily Mail has been focusing its growth efforts on expansion in the US. A spokesman for DMGT said the talks with potential bidders for Yahoo were at a "very early stage" and there is no certainty that any transaction will take place. A deal could see the Daily Mail take over Yahoo's news websites and leave the other assets to the private equity companies.
