Swisscom seems serious about selling debitel, its Germany based mobile service provider, which is also active in the Netherlands and France, according to sources in the financial world. These sources also point to Joachim Dreyer, the ex-boss of debitel, as possible buyer, reports German magazine Der Spiegel. The magazine further writes that a private investment group and an investment bank are cooperating with Dreyer for this purchase. Dreyer has already felt the water with the large German mobile operators if they could imagine working with debitel under his supervision. Swisscom has said in a reaction to Der Spiegel: "We do not react to this kind of speculation."
