Deutsche Telekom announces MagentaTV-Stick, Netflix subscription, in-house productions

Deutsche Telekom said it will offer the MagentaTV-Stick from December, and has already started providing the option of a Netflix subscription to its customers.

The MagentaTV-Stick will provide access to television, streaming services and applications. With the stick, customers can use the MagentaTV app via Wi-Fi on any TV with an HDMI connection. In addition, it supports 4K Ultra HD and HDR. The service includes time-shifted television with around 50 HD channels, Megathek content, access to different streaming services and media libraries. The MagentaTV Stick will cost EUR 64.99, which includes a subscription for three months to MagentaTV.

Telekom will also offer on Magenta its own in-house productions such as 'Wild Republic', from the end of 2020, and 'Children of Mars', a co-production by Telekom and ZDFneo.

The new 'MagentaTV Netflix' subscription includes the MagentaTV Plus subscription plus a charge of EUR 9 for Netflix. It includes more than 100 channels, of which around 45 are in HD, as well as numerous convenient features and the Megathek. The Netflix standard subscription allows access to all content in HD and two streams simultaneously.
